COUNCILS & COMMITTEES
Nominations & Elections
Each year, the Society invites nominations for the open offices on the SfHP Executive Committee. Elected offices include: President-Elect, Treasurer/Secretary, Member-at-Large, and APA Council Representative. Specific calls for nominations are issued through the SfHP listserv, The Health Psychologist publication, Updates for 38, and other communications tools.
Elected members take office immediately after the APA convention. Candidates for elected office must be current members of APA and of the Society for Health Psychology. Self-nominations are welcome.
Typically, requests for nominations begin shortly after the APA convention and remain open until the end of each calendar year. The Nominations and Elections Committee meets in the early winter and produces a slate of candidates by mid-February. Elections usually run from mid-April until the end of May, with outcomes announced by mid-June.
