The Central Virginia VA Health Care System in Richmond, Virginia, is accepting applications for our two year, APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship in Rehabilitation Psychology. We have one position available for the 2025-2027 training period. Our fellowship meets criteria for Board Certification in Rehabilitation Psychology.
This fellowship offers advanced training in TBI, SCI, health psychology, neuropsychology, and geropsychology. The Richmond VA is part of the Polytrauma System of Care, including acute inpatient, residential, and outpatient care for veterans and active duty service members with brain injuries. Our SCI/D service is a regional hub offering inpatient and outpatient care for patients with spinal cord injuries, ALS, and MS. Training is available in a busy outpatient neuropsychology clinic serving a diverse patient population as well as with palliative/hospice care and geropsychology populations. We also have a robust health psychology program offering experience with transplant evaluations, psycho-oncology, chronic pain, and primary care.
Fellows have the opportunity to work on interdisciplinary teams, treat patients individually and in groups, provide family education, and offer staff trainings, if interested. Whole health principles and providing patient-centered, holistic care is emphasized. Fellows have protected research time and opportunities for layered supervision of interns and/or practicum students. We encourage and support our Fellows’ involvement in professional development, including Division 22 activities.
