Digestive Health Fellowship (1 position): The Digestive Health postdoctoral fellowship provides specialty training focused on the interface between psychology and medicine for treatment of digestive health conditions. Fellows will receive training in comprehensive psychosocial evaluations, the application of evidence-based treatments to specific disease groups, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. As part of the digestive health fellowship, postdoctoral fellows will:
· Work embedded in Gastroenterology & Hepatology treating a wide range of digestive diseases, including disorders of gut-brain interaction (e.g., irritable bowel syndrome), motility disorders (e.g., gastroparesis), inflammatory bowel disease, and liver and pancreatic conditions. Fellows also have the option to complete training in gut-directed hypnotherapy, an evidence-based treatment for disorders of gut-brain interaction. (40%)
· Work in obesity medicine gaining experience completing bariatric surgery evaluations, and treating mild to moderate eating disorders (e.g., binge eating), internalized weight stigma and difficulties with body acceptance. (20%)
· Engage in clinical training opportunities in a selected area of minor specialization, for example psycho-oncology, mood disorders, anxiety disorders & PTSD (20%)
· Participate in weekly seminars and didactics (10%)
· Have opportunities to collaborate on ongoing research focused on improving access to care in GI populations, use of technology to enhance care for rural populations, assessment and treatment of sleep disorders in inflammatory bowel disease, or quality improvement projects. (10%)
· Receive weekly supervision from licensed clinical psychologist(s) with expertise in assessment and treatment of digestive disorders.
