Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, Division of Behavioral Medicine, announces post-doctoral training positions in behavioral sleep medicine with opportunities for a secondary emphasis in chronic pain, bariatrics / behavioral weight loss, traumatic brain injury or burn injury. We are accepting applications for a two-year clinical research fellowship (one year possible). Positions are available immediately and on a rolling basis and may start as late as September 2025. This position will involve working on an NIH funded clinical trial of CBT-I and Bright Light Therapy in older adults undergoing total knee replacement surgery. Opportunities to serve as an interventionist on other clinical trials of CBT-I and other behavioral interventions in breast cancer and traumatic brain injury are available. The candidate will gain experience and training in comprehensive sleep assessment, delivering manualized CBT for insomnia, clinical trials methodology and implementation. Fellows will also have the opportunity to gain clinical experience in the Johns Hopkins Behavioral Sleep Medicine Clinic. The fellowship is accredited by the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine. Primary goals of the fellowship are to provide requisite training for certification in Behavioral Sleep Medicine by the Board of Behavioral Sleep Medicine, provide supervised hours for state licensure in psychology, and prepare fellows for a career in academic behavioral sleep medicine. Each fellow will be collaboratively mentored by multiple Behavioral Sleep Medicine faculty. Both clinical and/or research-oriented trainees are encouraged to apply. Development of manuscripts from archival data and mentored support submitting pilot and/or career development grant applications is available for research-oriented fellows. Fellows will participate in a weekly sleep medicine seminar with the Department of Medicine, Pulmonary and Neurology sleep medicine fellows. To be considered, applicants must have completed a Ph.D. or PsyD in Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited program by the time the fellowship starts.
