Loyola Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences and Division of Psychology is offering a one-year, full time postdoctoral fellowship in health psychology available for the upcoming academic year. The training model emphasizes the scientist-practitioner model, in which evidence based practices are implemented through psychological assessment and treatment.
The Fellow will provide comprehensive services for adult medical patients with special emphasis on psychosocial oncology, hematology, solid organ transplantation, inpatient consult-liaison across a variety of service lines, bariatric surgery, and weight management. Training includes inpatient interventions and outpatient services, with instruction in a variety of techniques and the Fellow participates in departmental teaching and research activities.
We are an academic medical center near Chicago, Illinois with a 559 bed hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center, a Burn Center, the Ronald McDonald® Children’s Hospital, the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, the Center for Heart & Vascular Medicine as well as the LUC Stritch School of Medicine, and the LUC Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing. The clinical psychology training program has been providing training and education to doctoral students since 1997.

Completion of an APA-approved graduate program and APA-approved internship are required and medical-center clinical experience is preferred.
