Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, a preeminent comprehensive cancer center in New York City is recruiting for predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees to join its NCI/NIA T32-funded research fellowship program in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

The mission of this program is to train the next generation of behavioral, clinical, and population scientists to address psychological and behavioral factors across the entire cancer control continuum: from cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment, palliative care to survivorship.

Trainees gain expertise in all aspects of research, including health communication, grant writing and management, career development, data management, liaison with multidisciplinary co-investigators, data analyses, and dissemination of findings via oral presentations and manuscript preparation.

Fellows are matched with one to two mentors with established research programs based on expertise and interests and work within one of the nine research laboratories in the department.

Multi-disciplinary collaborations within the institution and community-based organizations are well established and allow strong ties to community populations.

Fellowship Description:
•2-3 year program

•Mentorship and didactic training that prepares trainees to become an independent investigators in psycho-oncology

•Support for stipend, health care benefits, housing, travel, and training-related expenses

Eligibility:
•Postdoctoral candidates

•PhD in psychology, neuroscience, nursing, public health, or other behavioral/social sciences discipline or MD with a residency in psychiatry and prior behavioral science research experience

•All applicants: US citizens or legal permanent residents
