Assistant Professor Tenure System in Psychology

 

Position Summary

The Ecological-Community Psychology program within Michigan State University’s Department of Psychology is seeking to recruit a faculty member with expertise in community engaged, participatory methods to address health disparities. We are seeking scholars who conduct translational research in partnership with communities to address health disparities and reduce inequalities. The ideal candidate will have established a strong program of visible research, a history of (or clear potential for) external funding, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in a) diversity, equity, and inclusion, and b) undergraduate and graduate teaching. For this position, an ideal candidate’s substantive focus can address any type of health disparity/population but should reflect a strong methodological tradition of community-engaged translational research.

 

The candidate recruited for this position would join an active, intellectually diverse, and productive Department of Psychology and be expected to affiliate with one or more of the department’s six PhD training focal areas (Behavioral Neuroscience, Clinical Science, Cognition and Cognitive Science, Ecological/Community Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Social Personality), based upon expertise and interest. Required Degree

Doctorate – Psychology or related field

 

Minimum Requirements

Ph.D. in Psychology or related field required by the date of hire; Ph.D. or ABD permissible at the time of application/interview

Published research aligning with content areas listed in position summary

Strong potential for extramural funding

 

Preferred Requirements

Excellence in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels
