The Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, is recruiting for a full-time, on-site psychologist to work with pain patients with SCI, ABI, and other neuromedical conditions.  The psychologist should have specialty training in pain interventions and management, and health or rehabilitation psychology.  Ideal candidates would also have medical center/hospital or interdisciplinary treatment team experience.

Primary responsibilities include active participation as a member of an interdisciplinary clinic team, and providing comprehensive psychological services for pain patients, which may include assessments, consultations, pre-surgical evaluations, interventions, education, and individual, group and family therapy as needed.  Interventions are provided in person and via telehealth. The psychology department currently has a large psychology staff with diverse specialists and services in spinal cord injury, brain injury, and multiple sclerosis. The department also trains students and fellows, with mentoring/teaching opportunities available.

Qualifications:

·         PhD or PsyD from an APA/CPA-approved program in Clinical Psychology

·         APA/CPA-accredited internship completion

·         Successful completion of a 1 or 2-year postdoctoral fellowship/residency or advanced work experience

·         Experience working in medical settings and interdisciplinary treatment teams is preferred.

·         Board certified or eligible for board certification in rehabilitation, clinical, or health psychology.

·         Eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia.
