Job Description or Duties:   The University of Nebraska at Kearney Psychology Department is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor (open area).

Teach health psychology and contribute to the core courses in psychology including those related to research methodology. Offer course work in support of the university’s Rural Health Initiative. Develop courses in your area of interest that complement the psychology program. Establish an active research program and provide departmental and institutional service on committees. The expected teaching load is 9 hours per semester for research-active faculty.

 

Required Qualifications:   Ph.D. in Psychology completed at the time of appointment; evidence of ability to effectively teach undergraduate students; and evidence of ability to establish an independent research program that involves undergraduate students.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

College/University teaching experience; evidence of a productive research program in their area of expertise; ability to seek external funding; experience teaching online; and evidence of ability to contribute to department service. Ideal candidates will have a research program in an area complementing the health sciences (e.g., Health Psychology, Child/Adolescent Development, Biopsychology, etc.)
