The Counseling Psychology program at University of Southern Mississippi (USM) is now accepting applications for two open faculty positions, beginning August 2025. Both positions are full-time, tenure-track roles, to replace existing faculty members who moved into other leadership positions on our campus.

We are seeking dynamic and passionate educators and scholars to join our team in the following roles:

  1. Assistant Professor of Counseling Psychology
  2. Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology.

The selected candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to our APA-accredited doctoral program, MPCAC-accredited Counseling Psychology master’s program, and undergraduate psychology major, along with opportunities to mentor graduate students, and engage in meaningful research and clinical training in a collaborative academic environment within our USM School of Psychology. We are looking for candidates passionate about clinical supervision as we have doctoral students gaining experience in our in-house clinic and master’s students placed throughout our community that all receive faculty supervision. For applicants interested in the Assistant/ Associate position, there are opportunities to engage in program leadership.
