The Department of Public Health Sciences (PHS) in the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine and the NCI-designated UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center are jointly seeking applicants for a tenured or tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor to conduct research on cancer disparities, preferably with a focus on racial and ethnic disparities, that influence inequities in cancer incidence, health-related quality of life, and/or survival. The successful faculty candidate will be appointed within PHS to conduct scientific research and contribute to our leading research program initiative to reduce and eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in cancer risk and outcomes in the communities served by the UVA Cancer Center. Senior candidates must have had success in obtaining federally funded research in health inequities in the field of cancer prevention and control. Applicants at the assistant professor level must demonstrate promise in establishing a federally funded research program in this area. All candidates must have a proven track record of community engagement and a scholarly record of collaboration in multidisciplinary investigator teams informed by community outreach and engagement principles and practice.
