Applications are currently being accepted for nine Postdoctoral Fellowship positions in the APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship program at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Postdoctoral training at VA Palo Alto builds on the generalized foundation of the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies that define clinical psychology (science-practice integration; ethical and legal standards; individual and cultural diversity; professional values, attitudes, and behaviors; communication and interpersonal skills; assessment; intervention; supervision; and consultation and interprofessional skills). The program offers breadth and depth to develop both advanced general professional competencies and specific skills within the following seven focus areas: Behavioral Medicine; Geropsychology; Palliative Care; Psychosocial Rehabilitation (2 positions); PTSD (2 positions); Trauma and Substance Use Treatment; and Couples/Family Systems. The core program also emphasizes professional development and the development of skills for supervision. The starting date for the Fellowship is September 8, 2025. Applications must be received by December 23, 2024, for all focus areas. Note that we also have postdoctoral training at VA Palo Alto in the specialty areas of Clinical Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology in our separately accredited two-year fellowship programs; both programs are also described on the Training Program website.
