The Pain Management Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a full-time licensed psychologist who will have a primary faculty appointment within the Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Pain Medicine in the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Vanderbilt Pain Management is a multi-disciplinary team providing cutting-edge, comprehensive care for patients with various pain conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited psychology program

• APA-accredited internship and a postdoctoral residency in professional psychology

• Eligible for licensure as a psychologist with the Health Services Provider (HSP) designation in the state of TN

Knowledge and experience working with adult patients with chronic pain and comorbid medical/psychological conditions is preferred. Training and experience with evidence-based psychological interventions for chronic pain such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and/or clinical hypnosis is preferred.

This is a primarily clinical position with approximately 4 clinical days and 1 academic/administrative day per week. Responsibilities include conducting psychological evaluations as part of planning for spinal cord stimulator implantation and providing individual and group intervention to adult patients with chronic pain as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team. Responsibilities also include attending faculty meetings and Grand Rounds.

There are opportunities to receive continuing education and training and to attend professional and academic conferences through a generous, yearly continuing education stipend. There are also opportunities for involvement in education of medical students, residents, and fellows. Psychologists have the benefit of regular consultation meetings with a supportive group of health psychology colleagues within the Pain Division and PM&R/Osher Center for Integrative Health.

This position will be based in Nashville, TN and will require providing in-person and telehealth care with dedicated in-person clinic days. Salary and benefits are very competitive.
