Description
The Pediatric Center, located in Columbia, Maryland, is seeking a full-time Pediatric Primary Care Psychologist to join our team! Our primary care practice is relational, supportive, and enjoys a good laugh. This integrated model of healthcare is associated with a high level of satisfaction to patients, pediatricians, and psychologists. The Pediatric Center is conveniently located between Baltimore and Washington, D.C. and our community is frequently cited for its quality of life, diversity, and excellent schools. Salary and benefits for this position are competitive and schedule can be flexible. The psychologist will operate as a behavioral health consultant and provide brief behavioral and cognitive-behavioral interventions for both mental and physical health conditions and assist with specialty mental health referrals as needed. Common reasons for referral include stress/anxiety, mood concerns, somatic symptoms, sleep difficulty, behavior management needs, toileting or feeding questions, and most other common childhood concerns. The psychologist will be available for same-day consults (warm hand-offs), pre-scheduled appointments, and curbside consultation with other team members. The position also offers exciting opportunities to contribute to program development (patient education materials, practice protocols, groups, and/or psychoeducational workshops), based on practice needs and the psychologist’s interests and expertise.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants possess a Doctoral-level degree from an American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited institution and are licensed by the Maryland Board of Psychology (or license-eligible). Experience treating patients and their families from early childhood through adolescence using behavioral and cognitive-behavioral interventions along with exposure therapy is essential. The individual in this position must be a self-starter, a flexible team player, and possess interest in treating a wide range of presenting concerns. Experience using brief interventions in a medical setting is preferred.
