Volunteer in the Society
There are so many opportunities to contribute to the Society. Each Interest Group, Council, and Committee has a common set of roles, listed below.

Associate Chair
The Associate Chair supports/collaborates with the Chair in leading the Group’s activities and initiatives and steps in to fulfill the Chair’s duties when they are unavailable.
Awards Designate
A designated member who supports the SfHP Awards process by identifying, recommending, and nominating strong candidates for Society awards. The Awards Designate works to ensure a diverse, qualified, and representative pool of nominees by soliciting suggestions, reviewing eligibility criteria, and encouraging submissions and reviewers.
Web Designate
A designated member who serves as the primary liaison between the Council or Interest Group and the SfHP Web Team. This role is responsible for submitting updates and edits to the Group’s webpage, to ensure information is current and accurate. Web design/technical skills are not required.
Resources Coordinator
A designated member who works on developing/updating Resources.
Member Communications
A designated member who helps initiate and encourage discussion on the Group’s listserv and serves as a liaison to the SfHP Social Media Team to amplify communications and member engagement.
Virtual Programming Designate
A designated member who works on creating engaging virtual events for their SfHP Group. Responsibilities include planning networking events and/or webinars, identifying and coordinating speakers, and completing the necessary webinar forms, including those for continuing education (CE) credits.
Secretary
A member who supports the smooth operation of the SfHP Group by taking detailed Minutes at meetings, managing the Group’s Google Drive, and keeping the Administrative Team informed about upcoming meetings.
Student Representative
A student member who serves as a liaison from the Student Advisory Council to their respective SfHP Group, helping bridge communication between students and the broader Society.
