Please note that we define ECP as being within 10 years of earning your highest degree.
Personal statement guidelines
The personal statement should have a maximum of 300 words that clearly and concisely address the following:
- Interest in the Role: Describe your interest in volunteering with the Society for Health Psychology and the specific position for which you are applying.
- Relevant Experience: Explain how your prior academic, professional, or volunteer experiences have prepared you for this role and how your skills are a good fit for the position’s responsibilities.
- Alignment with the Mission: Discuss why you want to contribute to the Society for Health Psychology and how your interests and values align with the Society’s mission and goals.
- Professional Goals (optional but encouraged): Briefly note how this volunteer experience fits into your broader professional or personal development goals.
Statements should be well-organized, written in clear and professional language, and reflect thoughtful engagement with the Society’s work.
