The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Appointee position is to conduct and coordinate population research, including studies of health-related behaviors, beliefs, and policies focused on mitigating cancer risk, under the direct supervision and mentorship of Principal Investigator, Dr. Carolyn Heckman. Assists in ongoing NIH-funded research, with a particular focus on skin cancer prevention and tobacco control, digital interventions, dissemination and implementation science, data management and analysis, and especially writing and preparation of manuscripts and grant applications.

Considerable opportunities for mentored professional development and training including analytic skills for quantitative and qualitative data, writing lead-author papers, and designing, applying for, and conducting grant-funded research (e.g., postdoc grants from the NJ Commission on Cancer Research).

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assists the principal investigator (PI) and study staff on all ongoing research.
Assists the study PI with preparing, cleaning, and analyzing data and preparing manuscripts, reports, and presentations.
Assists the PI with the preparation of grant proposals based on the research conducted.
Gives oral presentations of the research.
